Seeing into Brave Spaces
This week I’ve had the honor of working with leaders in Puerto Rico, defining and deepening into their purpose, and opening up vulnerability. We are beginning to see how their vulnerability can help them further strengthen their teams and organization. It is truly astounding what happens when people allow themselves to be more fully seen and give their full attention to seeing each other.
Syngergistic magic emerges as we remember our humanness and expand into the potential that comes from stepping into our authenticity.
A colleague passed on the poem below. It captures the power of creating Brave Spaces for each other. As you walk through your week, see what happens if you spend a few minutes every day seeing someone fully and holding a brave space to listen, learn and connect.
Loves grows deep roots in brave spaces.
An Invitation to Brave Space
by Mickey Jones
Together we will create brave space
Because there is no such thing as a “safe space”
We exist in the real world
We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds.
In this space
We seek to turn down the volume of the outside world,
We amplify voices that fight to be heard elsewhere,
We call each other to more truth and love
We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow.
We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know.
We will not be perfect.
This space will not be perfect.
It will not always be what we wish it to be
But
It will be our brave space together,
and
We will work on it side by side
